My first day

So, my name is Lily, I am 17 years old and a junior in high school. First, nothing seems special about me, and the fact that my life is typical and ordinary is quite obvious. However, I got an amazing chance that not too many people around the world are lucky enough to acquire - I got a possibility to spend the academic year in the United States, an ocean away from everything I knew and loved. It might seem difficult, and strange, and unfamiliar, but it opens the doors for amazing new discoveries and adventures, too. Actually, I am not even sure anymore where I really belong, and which of the two worlds that I know is truly my own... I feel torn between two worlds, my heart is divided into two big pieces, in two different Universes that will never collide... Thank you everybody for making my exchange year so wonderful and precious. I will always treasure you and everything we share.
